VI PEEL

VI PEEL

The VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel that improves the appearance of the skin on the face and chest.

VI PEEL

With the VI Peel, we can address various skin concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, roughness, and uneven pigmentation such as sunspots and age spots. Hyperpigmentation, such as melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) can also be improved. This treatment promotes the exfoliation of dead skin cells, revealing a smoother, more radiant complexion.

Although the VI Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel, it generally requires minimal downtime compared to more aggressive peels. After the peel, the treated skin may appear slightly red or bronze in color, and you will likely experience some peeling and flaking for a few days. Patients receive a take-home post-treatment kit to facilitate a  comfortable healing process.

Alycia Eisenstein

I love Rana and her entire team. I have gone here for a vi peel, prp and was recently a model. I was a little scared the morning of the model treatment only because it was new for me but the team was so communicative about every step. The excitement of the students faces while they worked on me made me excited for the outcome. I love how natural I look and how easeful the process was. I won’t go to any other place to get any skincare procedures done. I love the CB team so much

Nicole Ramirez

I am so grateful for Lauren's expertise and skill. Thanks to her I look years younger which is a huge boost to my confidence. I always also appreciate her recommendations for products which have greatly improved the texture and appearance of my skin.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT

Unlike a superficial mask, chemical peels perform a penetrating cleanse that delivers immediate results. This can be a very intense treatment, so it’s important to prepare your skin well.

Do not exfoliate your skin for at least 1 week before your appointment. In addition, be aware of ingredients in your daily skincare products that may have an exfoliating effect and avoid them prior to treatment.
Take a break from makeup for 3-5 days before your treatment to allow your skin to detoxify. Also, discontinue the use of products that are drying to your skin, as peels are most successful when the skin is well-hydrated.

Most chemical peels respond better to skin that isn’t sun-damaged, so try to avoid the sun as much as possible prior to your treatment. When you are outdoors, wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunblock of at least SPF 30.

You will receive an email from our office just prior to your treatment recapping these pre-treatment instructions.

POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

For the first two days your skin will appear a bit tan, bronze or pink. It may also feel tight before peeling begins.

As a general rule, treat your peel like a sunburn. Avoid sun exposure, sweating and heat.

If any products in the post-peel kit sting or irritate beyond your tolerance, reach out to your practitioner for other options.

The amount of visible peeling you will experience varies greatly between individuals. You will peel as much as your skin needs to peel.

Each morning, apply the Post Peel Protectant and SPF 50+ Sunscreen and re-apply as needed throughout the day. Continue for the full 7-day peeling process.

Safe products to use during peeling are VI Derm Cleanser, Post Peel Protectant and SPF 50+. If you prefer, you may also use a gentle cleanser, Aquaphor, and sunscreen.

Days 3, 4, and 5 are typically when peeling begins. It will start in the peri-oral area and peel outward. The forehead and neck will be the last areas to peel. By day 6 most exfoliation has subsided.

The skin on the body peels slower than the face. It usually begins on day 4 through day 7 and takes up to 10 days or more.

Cleanse your face prior to showering. During your shower, protect your face from hot water.
When cleansing your face, use your fingertips only; do not use wash cloths or facial machine brushes for the first week.

You will receive an email from our team immediately after your treatment recapping these post-treatment instructions.

03

DAY OF TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Your skin should be well-hydrated on the day of your chemical peel, so drink lots of water.
Please come to your appointment with a clean face and no make-up.

Let your skin-care professional know about all medications you are taking. Your specialist might recommend temporarily stopping some medications that could interfere with the success of your procedure.

Do not wash, touch, or apply make-up or sunscreen to your skin for at least 4-6 hours.
Even after the peeling has subsided your skin will remain sensitive to UV light. Therefore it’s important to protect your skin and reapply your sunscreen when outdoors.

After your treatment, your practitioner will give you a packet of post-service towelettes. Apply the first towelette four hours after your peel was applied. Apply subsequent towelettes at the intervals specified in your aftercare booklet. All towelettes should be applied a minimum of four hours apart and all should be used in the first 48 hours.
